Fashion Week PT 3

So many fabulous people and fabulous outfits, shoes and accessories found at fashion week! It allowed for a lot of inspiration and a longer wishlist! Check out these ladies from Milk &Heels dressed all fancy and free!

Filtering through many stores and many trends is the awesome denim trend. This lovely lady was spotted at fashion week in her stone wash denim jumpsuit with assorted applique.
The denim trend is beginning to take over again, so go out and grab some denim and rock it
Here is one of the coolest moments of the evening. While standing in line for the VAWK show I spotted Sunny Fong and he was so kind as to let us take a picture with him!

If you have already followed my Instagram you will have seen this shot of most of the goodies that I had received that day! I got free lipstick courtesy of Maybelline and The Kit, NeoStrata samples for sensitive skin, 3 different kinds of perfume samples from Juicy Couture, a compact mirror from Pandora, and a roller ball perfume stick from Juicy Couture again (I won that one from a prize box), and of course all 5 tickets from all five amazing shows!

I really enjoyed this experience as I usually do and I cannot wait for next year... or next season :D

Fashion Week PT 2

Welcome to Part Two of my World Mastercard Fashion Week experience!

I had realized yesterday that if I put this fashion week post in one it would be super large and unnecessary so I thought it would be better to break it up into pieces and it would allow me to keep you guys on your toes!

Melissa Nepton
If I could describe this collection it would be COMFY. The designer duo created a collection that was very stylish and sporty. The coats had oversized, pillow like collars in both a geometric print, loose fitting jumpsuits in sheer fabrics and some metallic pieces were found as well. I really enjoyed this collection and I would love to cuddle in one of the coats to keep warm next winter!

David Dixon
This year is 20 years of David Dixon and of course, on an anniversary like this you gotta knock everyone out with your designs. The show began with a video of David talking about his experience from when he started out until now and everyone he was thankful for. It was really nice ad beautiful. Followed by the video was a quote, "I am not afraid, I was born to do this." and out walked the most awesome (in the real sense) and breathtaking line of Joan of Arc inspired garments that I had seen! Leather bustiers, fur, floor length capes, lacing and grommets and in colours of white in black, this collection was flawless. When the collection finished the crowd burst into applause and gave David a well deserved standing ovation.

Until Tomorrow!

Fashion Week!! PT 1

Welcome to my World Mastercard Fashion Week blog post!

Here I was on Tuesday March 24th from 4-9pm at David Peacaut Square downtown Toronto, surrounded by stilettos, funky fashion and lots of free samples! As shown in the photo above myself and some of my other friends went to go see Helder Diego, Narces, Vawk, Melissa Nepton and David Dixon. All of the shows were spectacular and I have added photos of some of the pieces from each collection.

Helder Diego
This show displayed structured coats and capes with looser over sized collars, dresses with pops of colour and flashes of silver. The overall colour of the collection fit with a general fall winter look but added warmth with the deep fucshia. This was the first time I had heard and seen this designer and I from what I have seen they have a very clean and classic look.
Narces
Narces' fall/winter 2015 collection featured ultra feminine dresses in metallic, lace, sheer fabrics and lip printed fabrics. The silhouettes were very soft and some fluid and very beautiful overall! I will be looking forward to seeing more of her in the coming years!
VAWK
I came to fashion week only knowing of a couple of the designers in the line up for Tuesday and this was one of them and one of the ones that I looked forward to seeing. By following the designer, Sunny Fong on social media, I have seen beautiful pieces come to life and set the pace for what I was going to see on the runway and of course I was blown away and I absolutely loved it!! The show began with four designs that he created, sponsored by subway, the green and turquoise dresses were my favourite. The rest of the VAWK line was again, beautiful with the rounded style lines and peekaboo cut outs, some filled with a sheer fabric, and the bright and bold red and fuchsia. Stacey Mckenzie also made an appearance at the end of the show in the final piece of the collection. Overall, this show was very exciting and amazing!!
This is all I have for you right now, but there is more (a lot more) so check out my Instagram and Facebook for quick updates to have a sneak peek to see what is coming soon!

Sewing Sunday

Happy Sunny Sunday!(for those who are presently experiencing sunny days;))
Today I decided to try and complete a project that I have been set out to do for a few days now. A friend of mine asked me to make her a lightweight blazer style vest. I had completed the patterns a few days ago but because of school I was unable to cut out the pieces and sew them together until today! :D:D Take a look of the project so far

So as shown is just some of the process steps and a side shot of the vest. I'm really excited to see how this turned out and I'm hoping to make another one for kicks with some of the fabric I have in my giant fabric bin. Keep an eye out for updates as well as more illustrations They are coming! I haven't had the time and I want to try something different!

Stay sunny!

Jourdan Dunn Layout

Hey my peeps!
This is very off topic and unrelated but in my computer class I created a layout of the amazing Jourdan Dunn. She is a very famous runway model and also recently seen in the Burberry campaign with Naomi Watts. Check it out as well as some of her work!
More drawings will be up soon! Check out my Facebook and Instagram for more updates!

Icy Cool Chic: Milan Fashion Week AW 15/16 Giorgio Armani

Hello hello!
I was browsing through some of the themes and looks from Milan Fashion Week on WGSN (a style website to look at trends, runway shows and inspiration themes from the past years, present and future) and they were all beautiful as expected. I was surprised to see that some collections had some very bright colours, almost as if we shouldn't leave summer and all its colour behind seeing as dark hues and shades are usually used for that season. Designers may want to bring warmth into winter collections rather than just a dark collections. It was a nice change.
Some designers also used more tinted pastels so it almost seemed as if they were 'frosted' or had a cold feeling to them and the one collection that I found stood out was Giorgio Armani.
As you can see one of the main colours is black and used as a backdrop to make the colours stand out more and have a better effect. He uses many frosted colours such as the blues, light pinks and greys and the silhouettes are very soft, they look comfortable, warm yet very chic and classy. Hints of Spring could even be interpreted from this collection from the little pops of flowers in the black jacket and in the cut of some of his pieces. Speaking of the cut, even though the silhouette is soft and comfortable, crisp clean lines are also found in his blazers, jackets and even in the offset peter pan collar. Overall, I absolutely love this collection from the printed pleats that pop out from the black to the boucle style hooded cardigan. If I had the money I would kill to own this collection! (figuratively of course). Take a look at some of the other collections that were featured at Milan and let me know what you think! Post a comment, send me an email or shoot me a message through my Facebook page! All contact info can be found on my contact page.

Stay warm my friends!
